As a Software Data Analyst Intern, you are responsible for assisting in the analysis and interpretation of large data sets to extract valuable insights and support decision-making within the organization.
Job responsibilities
Data Collection and Validation:
- Collect investment data from various sources, including market feeds and clients.
- Scrutinise data entries for errors, inconsistencies, and missing information.
- Collaborate with data providers to resolve discrepancies.
Data Integrity:
- Implement robust data governance practices to maintain data quality.
- Regularly audit and validate investment data to ensure accuracy.
- Monitor data feeds and identify anomalies promptly.
Documentation:
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data sources, transformations, and validation procedures.
- Create data dictionaries and metadata descriptions.
Process Improvement:
- Continuously enhance data collection processes.
- Propose efficiency improvements and automation opportunities.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with Product Owners, Clients, and Engineers.
- Work on multiple projects across several product lines with shifting priorities.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Quantitative Finance, or related fields.
- Proficiency in financial software and data management tools (e.g., SQL, NoSQL).
- Familiarity with the financial services industry and associated products.
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, dynamic setting.
- Fluent in verbal and written English.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant experience in Software Development and Data Science.
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript) and tools.
- Experience in software product management or development.
- Business fluency in Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese).
